My Hitty

These are pictures of just a few of our Hittys!  You can get an idea, here, of their individual personalities!  We never know quite who is in the wood until she emerges.

Each Hitty is a unique individual and, as such, has particular personality traits that are hers alone.  Created one-at-a-time, these Hittys are most often carved of basswood.

Occasionally, a cherry-wood Hitty may be carved!  (above, right, private collection of Vera Proffitt). or cedar wood! (below, private collection of Janet D'Ambrosi).

When Hitty travels to her new home, she will arrive fully clothed in her dress, pinafore, and pantalet wearing her real coral beads.  She will also bring her book, "Hitty: Her First Hundred Years," by Rachel Field.
